The core of this course is in Sections 3 -10.

After completing Section 1 (Thai particles) and Section 2 (common expressions and everyday words), you’ll have a better foundation to start learning from sections 3-10 with confidence.

You can work through Sections 3–10 in order, or jump straight to the ones that interest you most. Below is a brief overview of what each section covers, so you can decide where you want to start.

Section 3

• Type: Youtube video: Informative video

• About: The author tells a real story about how a Thai kid almost died eating a sausage from a non-certified company. He uses this to talk about how the Thai government and the bureaucracies are inefficient in tackling food related problems.

• Title: Eating culture, and how Thais view feet and sitting with their backs bent

• About: This is a 9 part audio where each audio talks about the dos and don’ts in Thai culture. For example: Don’t rest your chin on your hand, don’t talk while eating, don’t chew loudly, don’t scoop too much food, and more.

• Title: Thai kid punches female teacher!

• About: The news anchors in this video talk about a shocking incident where a high school kid punched, kneed, and elbowed his female teacher after he realized that he did not get a full mark on his exam.

• Title: Real phone conversation/gossip 

• About: This is a 2 part lesson. In the first part I talk about my parents-in-law with my sister. And in the second part we talk about what we think about the Thai government.

• About: The video talks about the background of Buddha and India. There are many Buddha, religion and India related vocabulary in this video.

• Title: The concept of กตัญญู and เกรงใจ

• About: There are 2 videos in this section. One video talks about what the word กตัญญู means, another talks about what เกรงใจ means. These two words are really related to Thai culture. They are so deep and can be interpreted many ways that it’s hard to find the exact English equivalent.

• Title: How to watch the Premier League with your AIS subscription

• About: This is a commercial video where the speaker is explaining how (also what, when, where, and how much) to use AIS internet operator subscription to watch Premier League football. Here you will learn about Thailand internet operators and many vocabs related to phone and internet.

• About: You will watch a young man singing in The voice singing contest. After he sings, the judges comment on his performance and give him lots of compliments.
